Yotkom is reaching out regularly to the surrounding rural community of Northern Uganda.

Some places are isolated, transport is difficult and there are many challenges getting to our facility.

This week a team of nurses and clinicians are visiting  6 schools .

Their tasks include :
Delivering Vitamin A and deworming medication.

Checking for undetected cases of Malaria and instigating treatment.

Looking for suspected cases of Tuberculosis

Administering childhood vaccinations including the HPV Cervical Cancer vaccine

Updating tetanus vaccinations

Undertaking health education talks, addressing issues of family planning , identifying pregnant mothers and referring  for safe antenatal care.

Our team really enjoy these opportunities to connect with commmunity and make a difference.

Yotkom also has a twice weekly one hour talk back FM radio broadcast with many opportunities to address preventive health issues and answer community questions.
